Doyouwanna Pyrenees Roadtrip 2010

Good views, good flying, good food and of course good company. always the same on the Doyouwanna road trip to the Pyrenees. Home tired and weary but happy and a few kilos heavier. Time to diet.

Flying at last

At last the winds turned south westerley today, after northerly and southerly winds of the past few days, and so nice flying conditions at Gullion again. Arriving early to make best of conditions as forcast for winds to die off in the afternoon, which they did.

Titanic Exhibition, Dublin



Exhibition finishes on saturday. Well worth a visit.
Some facts:-
Total passengers 2,207. Survivors 712.
Ship's length 882ft. width 92ft. Weight 46,ooo tons.
Cost of First Class Ticket in 1912 £525 (£34,000 at todays prices)
Cost of 3rd class ticket in 1912 £8 (£500 at todays prices)
As you enter the exhibition you receive a boarding pass in the name of an actual passenger on the Titanic. My boarding pass was in the name of Mr. Engelhart Ostby from Providence, Rhode Island, a 1st class passenger who was travelling with his daughter Helene- he died but she was one of the survivors.

Carlingford

Short flights at Carlingford today by Robert, Rafael, Martin and myself. Sea breeze on the hill but no lift in the air.Was sea breeze mixing with northerly wind. Dunno.Anyway a long walk back to cars after bottom landings.
